Laboratory visit to CNR Rome

Dr. Dariusz Piekarski visited the Molecular Dynamics and Applications (MDA) group at CNR-ISM at Rome, Italy. Collaboration with Dr. Paola Bolognesi and Dr. Lorenzo Avalsi from MDA concerned the unusual properties of 1,2,3-triazole from an experimental perspective, with a focus on its fragmentation in the singly charged state. During the visit, Dariusz and his collaborators conducted experiments related to the ionization of triazole and obtained a very clean MS spectrum at room temperature. Dariusz learned practical aspects of the cross-beam set-up, including careful handling of temperature effects, electronic safety, and general experimental tips and tricks useful for carrying out the PD2PI project and future scientific work.
