MD-GAS COST Action (CA18212): 2nd General Meeting

Dariusz Piekarski attended the MD-GAS COST Action (CA18212): 2nd General Meeting - organised by the WG1 & WG2 MD-GAS COST Action (CA18212) groups. The event focused on new high-performance instrumentation and experimental methods (WG1) and the survival and destruction of molecular particles after high-energy interaction (WG2).

The aim of the meeting was to gather leaders among experimentalists and theorists and to identify new trends and challenges related to the physics of molecular radiation and the chemistry of the atmosphere.

Dariusz Piekarski gave a poster presentation titled “Molecular growth of cyclic compounds induced in linear butadiene clusters: pathway to PAHs”, related to quantum-mechanical results of research on the decomposition of simple hydrocarbons from the diene group and their clusters under the influence of ionizing radiation. The theoretical results were compared with the experimental results carried out at GANIL, Caen.
