MD-GAS WG1 & WG2 Conference 2021

Dariusz Piekarski participated in MD-GAS WG1 & WG2 Conference 2021. The meeting was one of the activities proposed by the WG1 & WG2 MD-GAS COST Action (CA18212) groups and focused on new high-performance instrumentation and experimental methods (WG1) and the survival and destruction of molecular particles after high-energy interaction (WG2).

The subject of the conference was quite wide and included the development of high-performance instrumentation, as well as molecular dynamics in the gas phase induced by interactions between molecules/clusters and photons, electrons or heavy ions and their application, among others in the sciences of astrochemistry and atmosphere and in radiation therapy related to damage caused by molecular radiation.

As part of Dariusz Piekarski function, i.e. the MD GAS WG2 co-leader - CA18212, he co-organized this conference. He was responsible for negotiations and information exchange with an external company building an online platform and the so-called core group (grant holder prof. Henning Zettergren - University of Stockholm), selection of presenters, abstracts, and the summary of the final session. The conference was successful and attracted outstanding scientists from 170 countries around the world - Europe, Australia, Asia, both the Americas and Africa.
