PATAS 2021 VIRTUAL WG3 MEETING
Dariusz Piekarski participated in the Processes in ATmospheric and AStrochemical environments (PATAS 2021) meeting. The meeting was one of the activities proposed within the WG3 MD-GAS COST Action group (CA18212) and focused on processes in the atmosphere and astrochemical environments. A number of related topics were covered, such as the charge and energy flow processes in atmospheric aerosols, hydration and solvation of molecules in the atmosphere, molecular encapsulation of pollutants in the gas phase to control air pollution, deexcitation and/or molecular growth processes of relevant polycarbonates in interstellar media.
As part of the meeting, Dariusz Piekarski co-organized and conducted a session for young scientists. Additionally, he presented a poster entitled "Importance of the nature of the intermolecular interactions in the clusters of beta-alanine amino acids: polypeptide formation by single ion impact", which is the result of research recently published by us: Rousseau, P., Piekarski, D.G., Capron, M. et al. . Nat. Commun. 11, 3818 (2020).
