Secondment to the Indian Institute of Technology

From March 25 to June 30, 2023, Dr. Bhavana Gupta was on secondment at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai, India.

During her stay, she focused on developing photoactive electrodes for photoelectrochemical characterization using conventional electrochemistry and scanning electrochemical microscopy. Her work involved optimizing the spray pyrolysis technique to deposit doped photoanode materials, including nitrogen-doped TiO₂, which showed potential for enhanced stability and visible-light activity. She also explored Ge doping in ZnO, identifying challenges related to salt solubility that could guide future research.

Dr. Gupta delivered a talk on functional materials for photo-electrocatalysis and actuation, engaging with faculty and students to discuss research methods and potential collaborations. Opportunities for joint grant applications and career development were also explored.
